The field’s are white unto harvest.

fields-white-harvestAbout three weeks ago I was in my garden and having finished my gardening chores sensed that I needed to stop and pray. I knelt right there in my tool shed and immediately an old Chris Bowater song from 1984 came into my mind. I cannot remember hearing it or otherwise thinking about it for years:

Here I am, wholly available
As for me, I will serve the Lord
Here I am, wholly available
As for me, I will serve the Lord

The fields are white unto harvest
But O, the labourers are so few
So Lord, I give myself to help the reaping
To gather precious souls unto You

The time is right in the nation
For works of power and authority
God’s looking for a people who are willing
To be counted in His glorious victory

As salt are we ready to savour?
In darkness are we ready to be light?
God’s seeking out a very special people
To manifest His truth and His might

I felt that God had spoken a prophetic message to me about the season we are in and the position that I, and indeed we who are involved in Chelmsford 24-7 need to take to see it break-forth.

God seemed to be saying that the harvest time (end-time revival) is poised; that He is ready to bring a display of signs, wonders and miracles (not least of Salvation) upon our City and to the Nation.

But He was posing the question; am I ready to follow utterly as this unfolds?  Am I willing to really ‘step out of the boat’? Am I fully committed to Him? Are you?

Holding God’s hand

Child holding father's hand signI’ve already committed the last year or so and until directed otherwise my future to seeing the Christians and the churches of our City come together in unity through prayer. But humanly speaking, despite all the great things that are resulting, it is nonetheless an uncertain journey and each day I know that I have to walk closely with God in order to discern the next step.

This was illustrated to me recently when, whilst out for a walk near to where I live, God highlighted to me a couple of road signs at the entrance to a lane with no pavements. One was a triangle sign of an adult holding a child’s hand, like you would see on the approach to a school. The other was indicating the road was a no through road.

Even if the way ahead seems like it may have a dead-end, stay very close to God and He will show you each step and make a way.

Moses in the Bulrushes

Dried up pond -bulrushesAs I walked down that lane, I actually knew very well that for me it wouldn’t be a ‘dead-end’, for just over half-way along, I turned through a gap in the hedge by a gate and into some fields. I made my way over to a pond, where previously I have thrown stones and watched the ripples spread. I had felt God say that a stone represented the effects of one small prayer and that many prayers together caused a maelstrom! (See my previous post of 18 January 2015).

On this occasion, the water level had considerably dropped and the part that I had thrown the stones held no water at all. I was a little surprised at this and may have had cause to be disappointed, that what God had previously pointed out had literally dried up!

However, the other half of the pond still had water, and certainly not there in such quantity before, were hundreds of2015-10-19 10.55.52 bulrushes.

I recalled the story of Moses where he was saved from the bulrushes by Pharaoh’s daughter, and how he himself went on to be God’s instrument for the salvation of the nation of Israel.

What the enemy had intended to be a dead-end for his life (literally), God had turned around for His mighty purposes.

.

So the question is, are we ready? Are we holding God’s hand. Have we got our eyes of faith on, that regardless of what we see physically, we can be assured that God has already got it all worked out and that His timing is perfect. Keep fervently praying my friends.

God’s looking for a people who are willing
To be counted in His glorious victory
