Christmas is a time of Wonder! Christians wonder at our Saviour, Jesus Christ, who stepped down from His Throne in Heaven, to lay as a baby in a straw filled manger. But most in our City and elsewhere, simply wonder what Christmas, with it’s stress, expense and excess, is even all about!
As Christians in a post-Christian society, we do not underestimate the task given us, to be witnesses to our world of the ‘Wonder’ that is Jesus. But neither must we underestimate the enduring truth that this same Jesus, crucified, raised again to life, now ascended and once again seated next to His Father on that very same Throne, promised us a lasting endument of that ‘wonder’ too – the Holy Spirit – the very power of the Godhead!
Our commission is carry and convey the truth, the life and the glory of the Kingdom of Heaven, to all on earth – ‘the Good News’ – whether through simple proclaimation, healing of the sick, raising the dead or casting out a few demons!
Our authority is sealed in the Word of God and understood through Prayer – a 24-7 two way relationship of communion and communication, our ‘walk in the garden in the cool of the day’, with our Abba Father. God’s power is released in us and through us as we exercise Hebrews 11 Faith, stepping into the impossible, but knowing that all was made possible by the finished work of Jesus on the Cross.
Chelmsford, Essex, East Anglia, Great Britain, our World, it is time to see and receive illumination of all this – true revelation of the Light of Life! May all wonder no longer, but truly wonder at Him.
We pray and declare over all, this Christmas time and into 2018, the words of Isaiah the prophet:
The people walking in darkness have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.
Thank you all too, so much, for your support during 2017, in ways large and small, in the ministry of Chelmsford 24-7 Prayer.
The Saviour of The World has Come and is coming again soon. Pray without ceasing.
Blessings this Christmas time.
