Thy Kingdom Come invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus.  What started in 2016 as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer.

We encourage you to take part as an individual, family or church.

Civic Prayer Breakfast – a great morning!

Civic Prayer Breakfast – a great morning!

The first Civic Prayer Breakfast of City leaders and local Christians, about 40 people, took place 8th January at Hylands House, Chelmsford. We ate, chatted, built relationships and prayers were then said over police, healthcare, political leaders, commerce and education in our City.

Local Evangelist, Nigel Bolitho, spoke passionately that Church and State in our City are not seperate, but ‘part of the ‘same house’, although so often confined to different floors – that we should and must be in relationship, working together to see our City blessed and prosper.

All present each took new steps, both up or down the staircase. May these journeys between us continue.

Christmas – a time of wondering?

NativityChristmas is a time of Wonder! Christians wonder at our Saviour, Jesus Christ, who stepped down from His Throne in Heaven, to lay as a baby in a straw filled manger. But most in our City and elsewhere, simply wonder what Christmas, with it’s stress, expense and excess, is even all about!

As Christians in a post-Christian society, we do not underestimate the task given us, to be witnesses to our world of the ‘Wonder’ that is Jesus. But neither must we underestimate the enduring truth that this same Jesus, crucified, raised again to life, now ascended and once again seated next to His Father on that very same Throne, promised us a lasting endument of that ‘wonder’ too – the Holy Spirit – the very power of the Godhead!

Our commission is carry and convey the truth, the life and the glory of the Kingdom of Heaven, to all on earth – ‘the Good News’ – whether through simple proclaimation, healing of the sick, raising the dead or casting out a few demons!

Our authority is sealed in the Word of God and understood through Prayer – a 24-7 two way relationship of communion and communication, our ‘walk in the garden in the cool of the day’, with our Abba Father. God’s power is released in us and through us as we exercise Hebrews 11 Faith, stepping into the impossible, but knowing that all was made possible by the finished work of Jesus on the Cross.

Chelmsford, Essex, East Anglia, Great Britain, our World, it is time to see and receive illumination of all this – true revelation of the Light of Life! May all wonder no longer, but truly wonder at Him.

We pray and declare over all, this Christmas time and into 2018, the words of Isaiah the prophet:

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.

20171219_191138Thank you all too, so much, for your support during 2017, in ways large and small, in the ministry of Chelmsford 24-7 Prayer.

The Saviour of The World has Come and is coming again soon. Pray without ceasing.

Blessings this Christmas time.

A Sound over Chelmsford

Watts, George Frederic, 1817-1904; The Wandering MinstrelWhilst away recently with my friend Peter Hill, seeing what God has for Call the Nation to Prayer, a man we stayed with overnight conveyed to me over breakfast something that he felt God had told him. He said that I was a ‘wandering minstrel’ for God’s Kingdom, that In essence, I carry and convey a ‘sound’, so as I connect with different people, ‘choirs’ form as they join and blend in, with their own ‘sound’!

This was particularly interesting, because over the previous couple of days whilst in Coventry, there was another mention of sound. We had being drawn to visit the City because of it’s geographical centrality in the Nation. There had been musing of the significance of the letter ‘C‘ –Coventry, Centre and musically, middle C.

Someone had mentioned that on one occasion they were in Amsterdam Central Piano AmsterdamRailway Station and that they had sounded middle C loudly on the piano there, listening to its resonance echoing out into the vast space of the building.

I believe God is creating a new sound, a ‘resonance’ over our City and across the UK. It could be singing or the playing of musical instruments, but it’s not traditional or even contemporary church music, or what you would hear at a ‘praise and worship event’ or on the latest You Tube clip from that well known band. Mostly it probably isn’t a sound based on musical notes at all.

sound wavesThe sound is actually the sound of Bible believing Christians – true followers of Jesus Christ. It is of those who had had enough of what our society has become, had enough of sin, those who care enough to lay it all down, repent, then rise up, ‘As One’, taking their place to do something about it.

It’s of those who will step outside the box, break religious tradition and cross and even demolish denominational boundaries. Those who desire again an Acts 2 Church. Those who are unselfish, give all they have to all in need, that heal the sick, raise the dead, weep with those who mourn. Those who restore hope and sanity where there seems none.

It’s those who reject division, hate and dis-unity of any kind, with an unconditional love that says, you are accepted, you are forgiven, because Jesus died not just for me… but you.

It is a sound of Heaven, heaven touching earth, of The Kingdom of God about to invade. An earthly army about to rub shoulders with the armies of heaven to take this planet back for Him. To take it back to His first design.

adam & Eve in garden

The sound is one of prayer. 24-7 prayer. This prayer comes out of a radical encounter with Jesus. It’s an abandoned, naked walk in the cool of the day with our loving Heavenly Father in the Garden, a restoration of relationship lost. The sound is one of arms thrown around necks and tear drops hitting the ground as forgiveness flows and relationships are restored – made totally new.

It’s the sound of the Wind of the Holy Spirit as we allow Him to blow us, take us wherever He will and whatever the cost.

It’s a sound that is surely gathering over Chelmsford, over the villages, towns and other cities of our Nation.

It’s a sound of a trumpet, ‘the last trump’, the sound that says He is coming again. Jesus is on the way.

It’s time to make your sound heard and get ready to greet Him.

A Prophetic Word

2017-10-26 20.53.47

On Thursday 26th October, during our regular Prayer Support Team Meeting, a Prophetic Word was presented by one of the members.

We feel that it is a very relevent and up to the moment word for us and the Christian Believers in our Nation.

Please weigh it carefully:

Prophecy 13th October 2017

I woke in the middle of the night and felt called by God to write the following;

‘I am the alpha and the omega, the first and the last. I reign in heaven but I see and know everything that happens on the earth, even those things that are done in secret, behind locked doors, out of sight.

I have seen and registered all these things and I tell you that retribution is coming for those who deal in deeds of darkness.

Do not fear for there is already a glimmer of light showing through the dark clouds.’

(At this point I had a time of confessing my sins.)

‘I am even now releasing the wind of my Spirit to blow through the world to bring healing and cleansing. This is not the second coming of my Son but it will block the plans of the enemy at this time and enable my plans to come together and be accomplished.

Keep praying, for this is a critical time; the enemy is deluded and would think that he is gaining the upper hand but he is falling into a trap.

Be on your guard, be alert and ready to move when I prompt you. Believe your eyes and ears, all that I will show you and say to you and above all be obedient to all I ask of you. Do not fear, put your hand in my hand and I will lead you forward into battle.

Always remember that Jesus has already won the victory; this will be just a skirmish and you will have my Heavenly Army fighting with you. Remember too that the enemy is very devious so be very attentive to all that I say to you.’

Colossians ch2 v15 (NEB)

On that cross he discarded all the cosmic powers and authorities like a garment. He made a public spectacle of them and led them captive in his triumphal procession.

Dream for a Prayer Centre in Chelmsford – by Leader David Gilbey

Prayer Room 2In a central and visible location, rent and rate free, or vastly reduced, in a good state of repair, needs some parking, a large room for prayer with independent access 24-7. Tea & coffee facilities – maybe a cafe, offices – a place where absolutely anyone would be comfortable to walk into… and have a life changing encounter with God!

Just a few of things I, along with our Team, have been starting to dream for, to create Prayer Centre in the middle of our City. God seemed to say, right when He gave me the vision to start Chelmsford 24-7 Prayer in August 2014, that we would have one and recently, that vision has come back into focus.

A few weeks ago, I was at a Leaders Prayer Breakfast in Ipswich and after, was invited back to the town’s Elim Church to talk to their leadership about what we are doing with 24-7 Prayer. Whilst talking with the senior pastor, his assistant felt God had a Word for me. Part of this was that we would have a Prayer Centre, ‘sooner than we think’ and that it would be in a prominent position… and he was not sure about this, but felt it could be opposite a bank!

I then felt to contact a man in Chelmsford, that I have met periodically over many months and who, along with his church, has had a real vision for acquiring use of a building in the City Centre, that could be used by local Christians for community use. That had not come to fruition and the idea had been dropped. However, when I met him some three weeks after the visit to Ipswich, it turned out he had been having increasing thoughts about all of this and had just in the previous week I believe, made a fresh enquiry with the City Authorities to see what might be available.

A certain building was mentioned, which does happen to be opposite a bank! … but certainly this is nothing definite and am not sure this particular building is suitable. However, as a result, I am starting to push some further doors in expressing the intention that Chelmsford 24-7 is ready to go from Portable to Permanent!

Our Team has been asked to Dream. We still need a clearer Vision of what God has for this. If we start to put together in our minds what we see and desire for our City, I believe God will start to reveal what He has already prepared. Our thoughts need to align with His preparations.

If you have any insights into this… or maybe a spare building somewhere in the City Centre! do let us know. And please join us in dreaming.

It’s time to Pray for our Nation

It is Time to Pray for our Nation

Grenfell Tower rainbowThere is little doubt that with the recent terrorist attacks, the Grenfell Tower fire, the General Election result, Brexit, all mixed with fear, uncertainty and every other possible emotion that goes alongside, people everywhere are starting to cry out for direction, stability, help and hope for the future.

Jesus Christ, through the Commission and Compassion He has given His Church – Christian Believers everywhere – is the Hope and only lasting and true answer to the cry.

Prayer is the key that will see a release of The Holy Spirit to make that answer a reality in the hearts and lives of individuals in every community up and down our Nation.

On Saturday 25th March, Chelmsford 24-7 will once again be taking part in sanctuary, a youth prayer event at Chelmsford Cathedral. It is a place to discover stillness, to create, listen, watch and breathe.

I think I am as guilty as most in failing to stop enough. Life is ‘busy, busy’ and everything conspires to keep us busy and thinking that if not, we are not achieving anything. But the Kingdom of God works differently!

‘But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.’ Luke 5:16

13th – 15th March, I had the privilege of spending three days at the annual conference of theWorld Prayer Centre in Swanwick, Derbyshire. Admittedly the programme a full one, but it still provided welcome space to stop, listen and to breathe.

God is presently doing something incredibly significant. Up and down our nation, men and women are hearing the call to unite in prayer, in relationship one with another, all mixed with the empowering breath of Holy Spirit blowing into and through them. Age is no barrier. One of the most enthusiastic Spirit filled people I met whilst away was an 83 year old Anglican man!

We are all being called back to New Testament Christianity. Immediately after Pentecost, when Holy Spirit so dramatically fell and after 3000 were added to the number of Believers in Jesus, we read in Acts 2:42-47:

42 They joined with the other believers in regular attendance at the apostles’ teaching sessions and at the Communion services and prayer meetings.

43 A deep sense of awe was on them all, and the apostles did many miracles.

44 And all the believers met together constantly and shared everything with each other, 45 selling their possessions and dividing with those in need. 46 They worshiped together regularly at the Temple each day, met in small groups in homes for Communion, and shared their meals with great joy and thankfulness, 47 praising God. The whole city was favorable to them, and each day God added to them all who were being saved.

There is no mention here, or later in the New Testament of ‘denominations’, different ‘practices’ or ‘traditions’ legitimately emerging. All the Believers were ‘one’ and this was how Jesus intended it. (Where we see subsequent evidence of Believers falling into error and dis-unity, it was spoken against and often severely dealt with!).

The early church was drenched in true agape love and real authentic relationships, based only around the truth of Jesus Christ Crucified and all he had taught. These same truths which are now represented within the Bible, the Living Word of God and only true authority and guide for Christians to live out their lives.

Do you want to see a powerful Revival in Great Britain and beyond? It is coming, maybe sooner than you think? But will you be too busy with life and all your church stuff?

It’s time to stop, breathe in Holy Spirit, love others, read and know your Bible and pray like never before.

Bless you all.
