Friday 23 to Sunday 25 September, Chelmsford 24-7 Prayer joined Christians around the United Kingdom in this exciting initiative.

A big thank you to everyone who took part.

72 hour on-line Prayer Calendar

We asked for the 72 hours to be covered in prayer, and as we have used before, had an on-line prayer calendar for Christians to sign up to pray for 1 hour or more wherever they were.

We were able to fill all but 1 slot on the calendar. Around 50 people contributed to this.

 

4 Prayer Walks in the City

We also arranged 4 Prayer Walks, for an hour each, to pray and bless our City and Communities.

• Evening, Friday 23rd, City Centre 

This was from Life Church, Hall Street. 8 of us set out at 7.30 pm and walked Moulsham Street and the City Centre for an hour, in particular praying blessing on those out and about and peace on the night time economy.

• Morning, Saturday 24th, City Centre

We met in the Cathedral. 9 of us set out at 10.30 pm and walked to the local and County Council offices, Courts, Police station and then up and down our High Street, praying as we went.

• Late afternoon, Saturday 24th, Melbourne Estate

We met at St. Andrews Church and 5 of us took a route through the centre of the estate praying over churches, schools, shopping areas and other community facilities, as well as the estate as a whole. We even prayed for a lady in a wheelchair for healing.

• Afternoon, Sunday 25th, Great Baddow

20 people gathered at St. Mary’s in Great Baddow and walked different parts of the parish, including accross the local recreation ground, praying blessing and God’s anointing on the area.

1 Prayer Space  – Christ Church URC

We did not hold any special Prayer Spaces for the Prayer Weekend, but did happen to have one at a brand new venue, Christ Church, New London Road, Chelmsford on Friday 23rd September.

We had a good turnout, about 12 people came along to pray.
